Paradise News

The first edition of Terrye's quarterly newsletter, Paradise News, was launched on Nov. 1, 2006.  It contained highlights from some of her Hawaiian Booksigning Parties, places where she traveled to speak, latest reviews about Trouble in Paradise and more.  Since that time, two more novels have been written, and the list of newsletter subscribers has grown by leaps and bounds!

Spring 2010 Newsletter

I hope you're enjoying Spring! I've been busy traveling to speak to book clubs, teacher's groups, and at libraries.  Thanks to all of you who attended an event.  The month of May is going to keep me hopping, too.  That's the way I like it.  It allows me to meet new people and tell them about my novels.  You can find out if I'll be in your area by clicking on the "Events" tab above.

Many of you have been asking about Secrets in Paradise.  I'm glad to say that it will be in the hands of my publisher soon.  I believe when it comes out in late fall that you'll read it and find that it's been worth the wait.  Allie goes to some new places, and she and her family face some difficult situations.  However, there is still plenty of humor and fun in it too!

I'm going to leave you with a short passage from Justice in Paradise featuring Rowdy and Precious.  This scene takes place right after they've joined Allie in Hawaii.

I heard Rowdy howl.  "What's your brother into?" I asked Precious.  Carrying her with me, I hurried to the living room.  I looked around but didn't see him.  "Rowdy, where are you, boy?" He howled louder.  The sound was coming from the kitchen.  I rushed in and turned on the light.  I still didn't see him.  "Rowdy?"

I heard a rustling sound then saw the covered trash can in the corner of the kitchen topple from side to side.  All at once, it hit the wall and fell over.  The swinging lid clanged to the floor.  Dragging the trash can liner and garbage with him, Rowdy came running toward me.

"Oh no you don't!" I said, scooping him up.  I caught him before he reached the carpet.  He had eggshells and coffee grounds sticking to his nose and ears, and a piece of limp lettuce was caught on a front paw.  The liner was wrapped around his back paws.  Precious was looking at her brother with distaste.  Despite the mess all over the kitchen, I couldn't help smiling.  "Didn't take you long to get into trouble, did it?"  With the goo all over his face, he looked pitiful.

If you haven't read Justice in Paradise, I hope you'll pick up a copy soon.  This episode is just the beginning of Precious and Rowdy's trouble in Hawaii.

Until next time, be generous with your smiles and hugs, and please try to work in some time to read.

Blessings,
